Grandview Emerson Neighborhood Association (GENA)

We are the neighborhood association for all residents (renters and owners) living within the boundaries illustrated to the right. Membership is open to any resident or property owner age eighteen (18) and over within the Association’s geographic area. Membership is also open to businesses and organizations located within the Association’s geographic area.

Our mission is to improve the overall quality of life in our neighborhood through democratic citizen participation and involvement. We accomplish this mission by:

  • Implementing our GENA neighborhood plan
  • Educating city officials and our residents about each other’s concerns and visions of the future
  • Promoting collaboration between the city and the neighborhood to achieve mutual goals and a shared sense of responsibility
  • Creating a sense of place within the community by developing the assets within neighborhoods
  • Initiating change rather than simply reacting to it by addressing specific issues and opportunities
  • Strengthening the city by strengthening neighborhoods
